- Walk through operation and care. Review how the gate closes and latches, how to check the barrier, and the manufacturer’s instructions for use and maintenance.
Discuss any city or association requirements before work begins. If the fence is part of a new pool project, coordinate with the pool contractor or permit holder so the barrier fits the approved plan and inspection requirements.

A mesh fence creates a barrier around the pool and provides access through a gate. A pool safety net fits over the water and must be correctly attached and tensioned. A pool safety cover also secures over the pool, with its own anchoring and care requirements.
Consider who will operate the system and how often the pool is used. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions, remove nets and covers completely before swimming, and secure them correctly afterward. Do not treat a net or cover as a walking surface. No barrier replaces attentive adult supervision.
